I’m Rebecca Russell, and in 2025, I took on the honor of continuing the work of the Vintage Pattern Lending Library (VPLL)—a two-and-a-half decades-long effort to preserve and share rare, original fashion patterns from the late 1800s through the mid-20th century.

The fit around the arm was weird to me, however, the pattern is really simple to adjust if you need to fit to your own measurements. If you have basic knowledge of sewing patterns you can certainly change and adjust as you need. My final garment was really beautiful and I was glad to have this sewing pattern to get the basic idea on how to make it.

Easy to download and follow
Great vintage look. If you're looking for an old-style cape, cocoon shape, with dramatic collar it's perfect. Instructions are a bit hard to understand, so you should have experience sewing if you want to get through it. Also takes a good bit of hand sewing. Was happy with how it turned out.

These hats are a hoot and are a great stash-buster! They also do not require a lot of printing. Get this pattern and have a hat party with your friends!
